“A school on the rise in giving quality education yet affordable education to Opolanons and nearby communities.”

Our History

By virtue of the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) Resolution No. 2003-155 enacting Ordinance No. 2003-14, marked the creation of a community college in the municipality of Opol. In consortium with the Bukidnon State College now Bukidnon State University, the ordinance was approved on August 12, 2003. The final and official operation of the college was made possible upon entering into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Department of Education, represented by Dr. Sinforosa A. Guiñares, Schools Division Superintendent of Misamis Oriental and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of Opol Community College, the Hon. Mayor Dixon Q. Yasay. The college operated within the school plant of Opol National Secondary Technical School for a period of five (5) years as stipulated in the agreement.

On August 11, 2011, the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a three storey building for Opol Community College was finally conducted at the Upper Plaza, Poblacion Opol. It was attended by municipal officials headed by the Municipal Mayor and Chairman of OCC Board of Trustees, Hon. Dexter B. Yasay. This significant event heightened through the full support of the Vice Mayor Chizarina M. Ortigoza and the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) members, the fourteen (14) Barangay Captains with their Barangay Council, the Senior Citizen Federation, and the Education sector represented by DepEd, CHED and TESDA.
